so excited

It's only Wednesday but this week has already been semi-crazy.

Amy's gone on vacation for the week, so she asked me to kind of manage the other interns while she's gone, so even though I usually only work Wednesday to Friday I came in Monday and Tuesday to get other stuff done.

Basically that means that all of the editors are sending me their sections, and writers are sending me their stories, which I then split up among me and the other interns. So far so good, except for some minor chaos on Monday. Basically, the same thing that happened with the Rilo Kiley interview a couple of weeks ago, but with Eugene Hutz from Gogol Bordello, Venus' "style idol" for the fall issue. So my friend Lori, one of the other interns, did the interview yesterday, and from what I heard of her end, it was pretty hysterical.

Overall though, no major problems and we've gotten a ton of stuff done, although the week just took a sharp turn on the way to full-blown craziness, because two editors just sent me their entire sections, which means almost 20 files for Carlye and I to dig into tomorrow.

Pitchfork Music Festival is this weekend … should be amazing, because a ton of people are staying at my apartment, we're having a party Friday night, and I get to see Iron & Wine, Grizzly Bear, Cat Power and Yoko Ono on my birthday (Saturday). Can't complain about that, eh?

Oh yeah, I watched Silverchair on Jay Leno last night. I really hope Daniel Johns was just losing his voice because he clearly couldn't hit the high notes so he screamed them, and as much as I love Silverchair, it sounded like shit. It really did sound like he was losing it though. I guess I'll see at Lollapalooza in August … I've been wanting to see them for years, no joke, so if they suck I'll be quite disappointed.
